Textile Repair Café & Info Session - IN HOUSE!
Do you have socks that need darning or buttons that need replacing? Do you want to save your clothes from the landfill but don't know where to start?
SPEC's community center Repair Cafés bring together local volunteers with a knack for repairing with participants who need help fixing everything from bicycles to electronics. Our in-house Mini Café will focus on minor textile repairs, and their helpful and knowledgeable menders will help you get started on that repair you have been putting off. Don't need anything repaired? Come anyway to learn about all of SPEC's amazing sustainability projects.
This event is flexible! Join us in the 20th floor boardroom for 30 minutes or 2 hours - whatever works for you. Drop-ins welcome and treats will be provided.
The Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC) is a non-profit, charitable and volunteer-driven organization, founded in 1969. We work with citizens, industries and government agencies, putting our brains together to create a healthy environment we can call home. Our mission is to provide practical solutions for urban sustainability. We use interactive programs and activities to enable lasting behaviour change within local communities.
