Walkathon
Help the athletes of Special Olympics BC – North Shore with their Annual Walkathon event! At this event, the athletes raise funds for the organization and partake in a walkathon along the West Vancouver seawalk. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup and tear down at the event, as well as to walk along the seawalk with the athletes helping to raise awareness of their cause.
Special Olympics BC – North Shore is a grassroots organization with volunteers working to support the goal of providing sport opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. Over 200 athletes on the North Shore alone train and compete in local programs, events like their annual walkathon help contribute towards venues, equipment, and uniforms. Special Olympics believes in providing equal opportunity for everyone, athletes of all ages and abilities are invited to compete, regardless of their skill level. This event runs rain or shine and is always full of a lot of smiles and positive energy! Funds raised by our athletes this year will contribute towards their participation in the Summer Provincial Games being held in Prince George this upcoming July.
